Established in 1979 Friends of City Park is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to maintain and increase the value and importance of City Park as a place of, natural beauty, culture and education for the public.

Through fundraising events and membership, Friends of City Park supports capital needs within the Park. Over the past 30 years monies raised by Friends have been used to refurbish many beloved park attractions including the Botanical Garden, Storyland and Popp Fountain. Friends’ biggest contribution to City Park has been the creation of Celebration in the Oaks, which has grown to become the Park’s largest annual fundraising event.

City Park
At 1,300 acres, New Orleans’ historic City Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country. City Park is home to the largest collection of live oaks in the world, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the New Orleans Botanical Garden, NOLA Bark, the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland. The park features fountains, playgrounds, walking and biking paths, boating, wildlife, sports facilities and acres of green space.
