Friends of City Park Membership Referral Month

Friends of City Park members, would you like to be entered for a chance to win a really cool City Park gift package?  All you have to do to participate is refer a friend to us. When they join, they will give us your name and you will be entered into the raffle. For each new member that refers you, that’s another chance your name is entered to win the prize package! This referral initiative will last until July 17, 2018. One lucky winner will be drawn and announced at Friends’ Fest on July 18. A word-of-mouth referral from someone who is enjoying the membership perks we offer is the most trusted form of recommendation. We truly appreciate your support in spreading the word about our great membership program!

Terms and Conditions
• Must be a current Friends of City Park member to participate
• Your name will be entered into the drawing each time a new member you referred to us joins
• The referred member must be a new joining member or an expired member that has been expired for over 5 years
• Need not be present to win

Equest Farm Tour
Led by Equest Farm Director, Leslie Kramer

The stables in City Park have attracted people for over 75 years. Through a long and illustrious history, the stables have survived in this urban setting. For one family, it has been a 50 year commitment to this sport and the special relationship between people and horses. Fifty years ago, Ben Brupbacher brought his two oldest daughters to ride at the stables. It began a life-long passion for the sport and the stables. Tour the grounds, with Leslie Kramer one of Ben’s daughters, to enjoy the refurbished barns, covered ring and manicured grounds. While touring, you will be treated to a morning viewing riders practicing from the very beginner to the advanced show rider. A tour of the barns and an introduction to some of the horses in their houses will give you an idea of the personalities of not only the horses but their people. Join us for a view of this urban equestrian life in our own City Park. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suited for the weather. Tour will meet at entrance to Equest Farm on Filmore and last 2 hours. Tour size will be limited to 30 people.

Saturday, June 17, 2017 – 10:00 a.m.
Mini Train Tour
Led by City Park Mini Train Expert

The Historic New Orleans Train Garden is one of the park’s hidden gems, tucked away in a vibrant, lush corner of the Botanical Garden. The train garden features typical New Orleans home and building architecture made with botanical materials, and replicas of streetcars and trains that wind around the track. Tour participants will experience an in-depth look at its history, detailed artwork, and maintenance. Following the mini train garden tour, participants will take a ride on the 2-mile long Train Amusement Park Ride around City Park. Tour size will be limited to 40 people.
