Camping 101 with LOOP NOLA
March 3 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Learn camping basics to confidently go on your next family adventure in 2022! LOOP NOLA has hosted camping trips locally and regionally for hundreds of youth over the years and we want to pass on our knowledge to inspire you and your family to take a trip this year.
The Camping 101 program is for both children and their parent/guardians to have fun working together and learning the basics of tent camping. The program will be centrally located on Scout Island in New Orleans City Park. It is geared toward parents/guardians with elementary and middle school youth, but all ages and experience levels are welcome. By the end of the program, you and your child will learn:
– Camping gear essentials and how to use them properly
– Basic camp safety
– How to build a fire
– How to set up a tent and campsite
– The best nearby areas to camp
Presenter: Jon Skvarka, Executive Director; 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Meet at the Couturie Forest parking lot on Harrison Avenue in City Park
